OUR FEARLESS LEADER!!!

Nearly Done

The final photos of the first attempt. I later found that this engraving was too large to fit the hexagon cutting around. I plan to cut out this shape to use for other purposes, possibly a necklace or wallpiece.

The Phoenix is Engraving

The Phoenix begins to take form. The whole process of engraving this shape took about two hours.

Cam Machine Cutting

The cam machine begins to cut out my first shape, this was done by connecting the Cam Machine to the computer program 2D Design, which had my engravings up.

Stage 3 Reflection

After much hard work and trial and error I've produced my final design complete with engravings on freehand.

Thanks to Terry I discovered I could have all 6 parts of my design together i one freehand document, Terry also found a way to transfer my design from Geometer's Sketchpad to Freehand while retaining the ability to modify the design without rough tracing. With this knowledge it was easy to put the design into Freehand and cut away the unneccessary, doing so gave me this:

I then had to add the engravings, this proved to be rather complicated as my plans were very elaborate. I wanted a different engraving in each triangle to create a complete picture when they were put together to create the hexagon. First I had to remove the coluar and reduce the image to lines and then had to remove the background and copy the image into Frehand to create this:
I'm glad this stage has finally been completed and look forward to cutting it out next term.

Third Olympics Project Reflection

Over the final day of project work I worked very hard to complete the assignment in time for the afternoon presentation. In the final few periods I made sure all of my group were contributing to a high quality finished product.
Our presentation itself was OK, but could have been much better with a bit of rehearsal, I'm glad I put plenty of effort into the PowerPoint looking effective as I think it made for a very classy slide show.

Reflection 2

I have worked hard every period on both research and my powerpoint, which is nearly complete. It is diificult sharing the work around at this stage where there is only really the powerpoint to be done but I feel that I am getting good support from my groupmates wherever they can.
I am very proud of my work and the ideas me and my group arer coming up with. We are confident we'll meet the deadline tomorrow and deliver a high quality finished product.
