My holiday's began with a two hour wait at the airport to get on a flight to Nelson, by the time I got to my Dad's Nelson home on friday night I was ready to drop on the doorstep and sleep there.
My first week in Nelson was filled with shopping, playing football and seeing movies with my brother. I overate, overspent and overfilled the week, this became apparent in week two. My brother, Dexter, flew up to Wellington and I was left spending hours at atime like a dead log in front of the TV, with nothing to do and no-one to do it with.
I spent more money, played more football and watched more movies but boredom was eating away at me like a disease.
Finally it was time to say goodbye to my family in Nelson and on saturday the 19th of July I packed my bag and headed off to the airport for, courtesy of the pilot's strike, another long wait at the airport for my flight back to Wellington.
Sunday was the end of not only the holidays, but a frustrating wait stretching all the way back to January. Saturday the 20th of July was the day the MIGHTY WELLINGTON PHOENIX played The Central Coast Mariners in the opening round of the A-League Preseason Cup.
The 'nix won 1-0 and my holiday ended in the best possible way.
