While creating tesselating shapes along with the rest of the class last week, I found this out trying to replicate the pattern on a football.I found that as long as both the pentagon and the hexagons were regular I could not make the hexagons connect on a 2-D surface. This is because this particular tesselation only works on a sphere, and on when flattened out there is a 12° angle between each hexagon around a pentagon
